What is Muscular Dystrophy? access rating, what do they do? Ventilation, why it’s needed and for whom and why? Is there a lack of funding for care? Access for wheelchair users, how bad is it? Technology and accessibility, how does it help you? How does your mental health affects you as a disabled person? These are some of The Wheel Questions that will be covered by this podcast, and hopefully it will help others physically disabled and able bodied people to understand and what helps and what doesn’t help. As myself, a physically disabled person I’ll provide my experience of my physical disability and the difficulties that I have faced physically and mentally in the past, the present and possibly also in the future, and how I have managed to to deal with them and also at times I’ve struggled too. The Wheel Question - What is Access Rating?
In this episode I interview a member of Access Rating organisation, and goes in to greater detail of what they do and how they try to improve public and private businesses access for people with many types of disabilities, so the disabled community can be more inclusive in todays society. Also gives description of what and how the disabled community have struggled and in many cases are still struggling to access public and private businesses, such as bars, restaurants and also work places, and also describes many businesses are losing out on more income by not making their buildings and such accessible for the disabled community.
